I've lived here for over 10 years. This used to be a decent place to live. Though the walls are rather thin (you can hear the television, conversations, and *ahem* intimacies, etc. of neighboring apartments), it was still a place I enjoyed calling home. I had recommended and referred these apartments to several family members, friends, and co-workers. Many people had been living here for 20+ years. And the apartment prices were the best in Annapolis, especially considering how nice the neighborhood was. But since the new management company took over, it's gone downhill. They immediately raised the rents (mine increased $250 with less than 6 weeks notice), the new office staff is horrible, and the maintenance crew are overworked with renovating empty apartments. Additionally, the renovations aren't going well and some apartments have sat empty from as far back as June 2007 because of stop work orders. Some of the renovated apartments are requiring work to be redone because they are not up to code. The "new" kitchens have great looking appliances (stainless steel), but have lost functionality because the appliances are too small for the apartments. For the prices you are now paying, you get no extras in return. While it's nice now having a washer/dryer in the apartment (as opposed to having to share 1 washer/dryer among 8 apartments), every time it's on the spin cycle it vibrates every surface in the kitchen and dining area. I'm looking forward to moving next year. Hopefully, the new management company can work out their kinks. But so far, they really haven't done anything to improve this complex. Long time residents are constantly leaving and moving out, parking has now become an issue, and these walls are too thin for having dogs here. Again, I hope that the new company gets their act together, because this was once a great place to live. I hope it can return to its previous status. |
