Apartment Review
It's old, but beautiful

My husband and I lived here for about 2 years. It's the best price for the space you get. The apartments themselves are HUGE, add the loft and it's even bigger. My 1 bedroom with the loft was about 1400 sq feet! Management always tried to keep everyone in line, such as going after those who didn't pick up after thier dogs and such. Everything was quiet and clean though they haven't updated much since the 70's when it was built. They do replace things when they break. Maintenance is good but they are often a bit overloaded so they can take some time to get to you. Small things like outside lighting in the parking lots tended to go unnoticed. I am a very paranoid person and I felt completely safe there after midnight wandering by myself. Parking can suck sometimes, especially when other neighboors own multiple cars. There was only one building that had roaches and that was because one tenant that lived there previously had been a total slob and never bothered to tell the manager about the roaches in the first place. They had been fumigating ever since trying to get rid of them. But again, that was only ONE building. I have NEVER seen a roach in my apartment, ever. You can occasionally get those large centipedes, but no roaches. It was very quiet there with a good mix of young people to elderly. The insulation on the top floors really sucks though if you have a loft. Tere is so much dead space you can't keep it warm in the winter, or cool in the summer. We lived in the apartment next door to it that had no loft when we first lived there and had no trouble with heat or air. In the loft we were seeing $250+ a month heating bills durring the winter and I was still cold! SOme apartments have fireplaces, though I didn't have one so I couldn't tell you, but I do know if you do happen to have one, they provide you with firewood all winter long. The pool is very nice and they provide grills in the pool area. There is also a fenced in tennis court that people use to let thier dogs run around in, also a basketball hoop in one parking lot. Overall, I would say it's your best deal if you want to live IN Annapolis. If you have a chance to take one of these, don't turn it down! |
